Full time position 1.0 FTE working Monday to Friday
Provide professional and clinical leadership to one of our multidisciplinary team in community mental health services

About the Role

This is a key senior designated role, supporting the Team Leader by providing clinical oversight and expert guidance to a multidisciplinary team, while contributing to clinical excellence and workforce development to ensure safe, effective, person-centred care.

You will maintain a strong clinical presence, providing day-to-day supervision and mentorship, support service development, and foster a strengths-based approach and recovery focus, that keeps whaiora and whānau at the centre of care. This is an exciting opportunity to provide clinical leadership within a growing service while influencing clinical excellence and positive outcomes across the Bay of Plenty.

About the Team/Service/Location

Our Community Mental Health, South team is part of the wider community mental health service. We deliver recovery-oriented, person-centred care that supports individuals and their whānau to live well in their communities. Our model recognises that mental health is influenced by social, cultural, physical, and spiritual factors, and we work in partnership with tangata whaiora to achieve outcomes that are meaningful to them. We are committed to delivering care that is respectful, compassionate, evidence-informed, culturally grounded, collaborative, and strengths-based, focusing on improving wellbeing and quality of life.

About You

You are an experienced mental health professional with a passion for clinical leadership and supporting others to thrive. You bring credibility, sound clinical judgement, and the ability to build strong relationships across multidisciplinary teams, services, and communities. You enjoy mentoring and coaching staff, promoting best practice, and contributing to service improvement. Your leadership style reflects a commitment to excellence, collaboration, and recovery focused care.

What you will bring:

Registration as a Health Professional with Mental Health included within your scope of practice and a current Annual Practicing Certificate
Minimum five years postgraduate experience within Mental Health and Addiction Services
Demonstrated clinical expertise in mental health and addictions practice
3+ years leadership experience.
Proven leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills within multidisciplinary environments
Experience supporting clinical practice development and service improvement initiatives
Strong relationship building skills with whaiora, whānau, colleagues, and community partners
Ability to influence positive change and contribute to service development
Commitment to recovery focused, culturally responsive, and person-centred care
