Clinical Analytics Expert
Job Description
In this pivotal role, you will contribute to the development of clinical decision support (CDS) products, enhancing the search and discovery experience for users of tools like ClinicalKey at the point-of-care. Collaborate with Clinical Solutions and Education teams to provide clinical analytics support, fostering growth, revenue generation, and innovation.
About Our Team: Our team specializes in validating and enriching medical information from the Elsevier corpus and electronic health records. We focus on information retrieval, data generation for gold sets, and content enrichment workflows to support clinical decision-making.
Experience Required:
• Clinical degree required (MD, MBBS, GP). Preference for those with formal training or significant experience in evidence-based medicine, clinical research, epidemiology, and biostatistics.
• Experience with semantic technologies such as text mining or ontology management is a plus.
• Proficient in English (spoken and written); knowledge of additional languages is beneficial.
• Familiarity with medical vocabularies (e.g., SNOMED CT, ICD-10) and ontology modeling is advantageous.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in a Microsoft Windows environment, MS Word, and PowerPoint, as well as experience with visualization tools such as Tableau.
• Demonstrated ability to solve problems, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
• The ideal candidate should be a clinician with experience in informatics and knowledge retrieval.
• Able to communicate effectively with stakeholders at mid and senior management levels.
Key Responsibilities:
• Utilize clinical knowledge to extract and integrate data in a healthcare setting.
• Adapt domain ontologies for information extraction, data modeling, and analysis.
• Collaborate with data scientists, clinicians, and subject matter experts to derive insights that inform automation and application development in health markets.
• Model, validate, and maintain core clinical relationships to enhance Elsevier's healthcare knowledge graph (H-graph).
• Provide insights to ensure high-quality automated indexing for better search and discovery results.
• Apply domain expertise and collaborate with external clinical experts to validate content accuracy and relevance based on current medical literature and guidelines.
• Develop domain-specific training datasets for machine learning models used in point-of-care products.
• Perform predictive analytics by combining extensive datasets in healthcare.
• Participate in design, prototyping, and analytics to enhance clinical workflows and content creation.
