Location: Ashburton House Care Home, West Street, Ashburton, Devon, TQ13 7DT
Reports to: Care Home Manager/Head of Care
Job Summary:
Ashburton House are seeking a team member to join the housekeeping team at Ashburton House where you will play a crucial role in ensuring a clean, sanitary, and comfortable environment for our residents and staff. Your work will directly impact the quality of care and life for our residents.
Hours per week:
We can offer from 6 to 30 hours per week which will be arranged via a rota. Shifts may include weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Responsibilities:
- Perform general cleaning tasks including dusting, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming.
- Sanitise high-touch surfaces including handrails, door handles, and communal areas.
- Ensure bathrooms and toilets are clean and well-stocked with essential supplies.
- Empty bins regularly and dispose of waste in accordance with facility guidelines.
- Use cleaning products and equipment in a safe and effective manner.
- Follow cleaning schedules and protocols as outlined by the Cleaning Supervisor or Care Home Manager.
- Notify management of any maintenance or repair issues.
- Adhere to infection control and health and safety guidelines and procedures, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Work effectively with other staff members to provide a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the care home.
- Complete any additional cleaning tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a working in a care home is desirable
- Previous experience in a cleaning role is desirable but not essential; training will be provided.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning products and their appropriate uses.
- A willingness to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
