Job Summary:
The Claim’s Representative will be responsible for processing claims and/or billing activities for all covered services provided by or to our members under their health insurance plans.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Processing of claims in accordance with established guidelines, policies and procedures;
Review claims to ensure accuracy and compliance with government regulations, HIPAA, and payer contract requirements prior to submission;
Communicating professionally with internal teams regarding claim status and questions;
Researching rejected claims and resubmitting corrected claim;
Analysis and maintenance of various reports to provide accurate information for management review;
Identifying opportunities for process improvements and workflow efficiencies;
Maintaining knowledge of coding conventions, reimbursement rules, regulatory requirements, and payer-specific guidelines;
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent; Associates degree preferred but not required;
Minimum one year experience in medical billing and/or claims processing;
Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS coding;
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
Ability to read and interpret revenue cycle policy and procedure manuals, as well as government regulations;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact effectively with both internal and external customers;
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
Willingness to take on new challenges and learn new things;
