Job Description
Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Namchi for a Civil Engineer with specific experience in transmission line projects in hilly areas. The Civil Engineer will oversee the planning, design, and implementation of transmission line foundations, towers, and associated civil works, ensuring structural stability and safety in varied terrain. Daily tasks include site surveys, topographical assessments, preparation of design drawings and calculations, coordination with surveyors and construction teams, and monitoring work progress against project schedules. The role involves reviewing technical specifications, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards, and implementing measures for stormwater management, slope protection, and erosion control. The Civil Engineer will also prepare technical reports, maintain documentation, support quality assurance and safety practices, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to resolve design and construction issues promptly.
Qualifications
• Strong foundation in Civil Engineering and Civil Engineering Design, with demonstrated experience in transmission line projects and hilly terrain.
• Practical experience in Planning and project coordination, including scheduling, resource allocation, and interface management at construction sites.
• Knowledge of Stormwater Management, slope stabilization, and drainage solutions suitable for mountainous or undulating regions.
• Eligibility to work as a Civil Engineer, with familiarity with relevant national and local codes, standards, and safety regulations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline from a recognized institution.
• Expert in engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, STAAD or similar tools) and basic project management software.
• Ability to conduct field surveys, interpret topographical data, and work effectively on-site in varying weather and terrain conditions.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Prior experience in transmission line or utility infrastructure projects in hilly or challenging terrain is highly beneficial.
