US High-grade Strategy and Credit Derivative Research Analyst J.P. Morgan's Global Research Center (GRC) in Mumbai was set up in August, 2003 as an extension of the Firm's global equity research teams around the world. Since its inception GRC has grown steadily and the team of analysts has expanded to over 100 and provides coverage for the key sectors globally. Besides working with JP Morgan's equity research teams, the analysts and associates in GRC are now engaged with other areas of public side research including credit research, economics, strategy, credit derivatives and indices. High Grade Strategy and Credit Derivatives Research team in GRC supports the North American High Grade Strategy and Credit Derivatives Research team with onshore analysts based in New York. The global team delivers trade ideas, in-depth reports, analytical tools, and educational materials to the firm's clients. Broadly distributed reports and daily analytics make up the most visible part of the group's effort. The team supports the global team in creating daily and weekly research products and responds to bespoke client requests. Main responsibilities of the Analyst for this team in GRC will include: Running the broadly distributed daily reports and analytics for clients. Assist the onshore team in writing the daily and weekly publication. Maintain the derivatives and high grade bonds database for the team. Maintaining regular contact with colleagues onshore, taking part in conference calls and responding to project requests (often client-generated). Maintain and regularly update the J.P. Morgan proprietary models. Essential skills: Strong quantitative skills Analytical aptitude and ability to learn financial concepts Good knowledge of Excel, knowledge of VBA will be a plus Good communication and team working skills in a multi-location set up Very good attention to detail A strong motivation for learning and managing projects independently Keen interest in derivatives and global financial markets Ideal candidates for these positions would be undergrads from prominent institutes who have passed 1 or 2 levels of CFA. About a 1 year experience in Fixed Income or Credit Derivatives would be an advantage. J.P.
