Job Description
Position Summary
The Church Administrator oversees the daily operations, administrative functions, and organizational systems of the church. This role ensures that ministry leaders, staff, and volunteers have the support, resources, and structure needed to carry out the church’s mission. The administrator manages communication, finances, facilities, scheduling, and compliance while fostering a welcoming, efficient, and spiritually aligned environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Administrative & Office Management
Manage daily office operations, including phones, email, mail, supplies, and reception.
Maintain church records, databases, membership information, and documentation.
Prepare weekly bulletins, newsletters, announcements, and digital communications.
Coordinate church calendars, facility usage, and scheduling for ministries and events.
Support pastors and ministry leaders with administrative tasks and project coordination.
2. Financial Administration
Oversee accounts payable/receivable, budgeting processes, and expense tracking.
Work with treasurer or finance committee to prepare financial reports.
Manage payroll, vendor contracts, and purchasing.
Ensure proper handling, recording, and confidentiality of tithes and offerings.
3. Facilities & Operations
Coordinate maintenance, repairs, inspections, and cleaning schedules.
Manage facility access, security, and equipment.
Oversee relationships with contractors, service providers, and vendors.
Ensure compliance with safety, legal, and insurance requirements.
4. Communication & Member Support
Serve as a primary point of contact for members, visitors, and community partners.
Maintain the church website, social media, and digital communication platforms.
Support new member processes, volunteer onboarding, and ministry communication.
Promote a warm, hospitable environment for all who interact with the church.
5. Leadership & Coordination
Collaborate with pastoral staff to implement church goals and initiatives.
Provide administrative support for meetings, including agendas, minutes, and follow‑up.
Assist with planning and execution of church events, programs, and outreach.
Supervise office staff or volunteers as assigned.
Qualifications
Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Proficiency with office software, church management systems, and digital tools.
Experience in administration, office management, or nonprofit operations.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
Alignment with the church’s mission, values, and culture.
Prior church or ministry experience preferred but not required.
Pay: $26.73 - $32.19 per hour
