About The Role
Reporting to the Chief Executive Partner, you will provide legal advice and guidance to the firm and manage all legal matters related to our business operations, ensuring robust frameworks are in place to identify, assess, and manage key risks, while meeting our legal, risk, and compliance obligations.

Responsibilities
Identify legal or risk issues early in the firm's planning processes.
Act as a mediator and influence outcomes in the firm's best interest.
Collaborate with professionals, oversee external advisers, and manage relationships with insurers and regulators.
Act as trusted advisor and liaison between management and the risk function throughout the firm.
Ensure efficient client service delivery and enhance client satisfaction.
Work with Partners and Business Services Groups to implement risk-aware procurement processes, centralise supply contract recording, and monitor supplier compliance.
Lead the review and update of the firm's Business Continuity Plan according to industry best practices.
Monitor the regulatory landscape and help develop compliance programs for AI, AML, ABC, and Modern Slavery.
Participate in the AI Committee and oversee governance, risk, and compliance for AI implementation.
About You
Suitable candidates will bring extensive experience in governance, risk management and compliance gained either in private practice or other relevant professional services at Special Counsel, Partner, or C-Suite level, or an in-house role.
An Australian law degree and a current practicing certificate are essential; a Certificate in risk, auditing, or compliance would be advantageous.
Experience in managing and resolving complex legal matters is required.
Possesses strong commercial acumen with excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills, including expertise in negotiation and dispute resolution.
Adept at keeping up to date with current laws and best practices related to governance, risk, and compliance.
Focuses on continuous improvement and utilising practical and technology-driven solutions.
Highly organised, able to plan and prioritise work to meet key deliverables.
