Chief Accounting Officer
Job Description
The Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) is responsible for leading the Company's accounting function and ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting. The CAO oversees financial accounting, general ledger management, statutory compliance, taxation, audits, financial controls, and the preparation of financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements. The role also ensures the implementation of robust internal controls and supports strategic financial decision-making.
## Key Responsibilities
### Financial Accounting
• Lead and oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and bank reconciliations.
• Ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions.
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, and accounting records.
### Financial Reporting
• Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and statutory reporting requirements.
• Provide financial analysis and reports to senior management and the Board.
### Taxation & Statutory Compliance
• Ensure timely filing of all direct and indirect tax returns.
• Oversee compliance with applicable tax laws, corporate regulations, and statutory requirements.
• Coordinate with tax consultants and regulatory authorities.
### Internal Controls & Risk Management
• Develop, implement, and monitor accounting policies and internal financial controls.
• Identify financial risks and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and financial governance standards.
### Budgeting & Financial Planning
• Support the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
• Monitor budget performance and analyze variances.
• Provide financial insights to support strategic planning and business decisions.
### Audit Management
• Coordinate internal and external audits.
• Ensure timely resolution of audit observations and implementation of corrective actions.
• Maintain complete and accurate financial documentation.
### Cash & Treasury Oversight
• Monitor cash flow and working capital requirements.
• Oversee banking relationships and treasury activities.
• Ensure effective management of company funds and financial resources.
### Team Leadership
• Lead, mentor, and develop the Finance & Accounts team.
• Allocate responsibilities and monitor departmental performance.
• Foster a culture of accuracy, integrity, accountability, and continuous improvement.
### Systems & Process Improvement
• Oversee accounting systems and financial reporting tools.
• Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and internal controls.
• Support ERP implementation and automation initiatives.
