Chess Coaching & Accounting Executive
Job Description
The ideal candidate should have:
• Willingness to relocate to abroad.
• Hands-on accounting experience along with strong chess knowledge and experience coaching children or junior-level players.
• Candidates with a combination of Accounts/Finance experience + competitive chess knowledge + junior coaching experience will be given preference.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Accounts – Morning Shift - 4 Hours:
• Handle day-to-day bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable.
• Process invoices and maintain accurate accounting records.
• Perform bank and account reconciliations.
• Maintain financial records across different business divisions.
• Prepare basic financial reports, cash-flow summaries and aging reports.
• Coordinate with auditors and external consultants when required.
2. Chess Coaching – Evening Shift - 3 to 4 Hours:
• Conduct individual and group chess coaching sessions for students aged 5–17.
• Follow the academy's prescribed chess curriculum.
• Prepare students for local and regional tournaments.
• Monitor student performance, progress and chess ratings.
• Maintain attendance and coaching records.
• Communicate with parents regarding students' development and progress.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in B.Com, M.Com, Accounting, Finance or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in bookkeeping/accounts.
• Working knowledge of Tally, Zoho Books, QuickBooks and MS Excel.
• Strong knowledge and practical experience in chess.
• FIDE rating preferred (Candidate Master or above) OR minimum 3 years of demonstrated club-level chess coaching experience.
• Previous experience coaching children/junior players is preferred.
• Good verbal and written English communication skills.
• Comfortable working in a split schedule across two locations/functions.
Work Schedule:
• Morning: Approximately 4 hours – Accounts/Finance
• Evening: Approximately 3 to 4 hours – Chess Coaching
• Full-time role with responsibilities divided between The SWIFT Group office and SESA academy venues.
