What to Expect
We are seeking a Cell Materials Engineering Technician to join a cross functional cell engineering team. In this role, the technician will perform chemical analysis and materials characterization while supporting battery materials R&D and engineering projects. The position requires hands-on work in a chemistry lab environment, including operation of analysis instruments, coin cell fabrication, and cell testing.
What You'll Do
Operate chemical analysis and materials characterization instruments to deliver results to the engineering team
Prepare chemical and material samples for analysis and evaluation
Fabricate standard electrodes for material level coin cell testing
Build and test coin cells, three electrode cells, and pouch cells
Document sample preparation processes and analysis results in an organized manner
What You'll Bring
Report process or lab issues and support identification of solutions
Maintain lab organization and perform routine upkeep tasks
Safely handle hazardous materials
Operate XRD, TGA, FTIR, PSA, BET, and SEM instruments
Perform wet slurry processing and electrode fabrication
Conduct cell fabrication and testing
Demonstrate strong communication skills
Experience working with air sensitive materials or battery materials
Knowledge of MATLAB, Python, or similar data analysis tools
