Job Summary
The Sales Manager serves as the key point of contact for customers who are organizing events with Pickle Barrel Catering, driving strong catering sales growth and positioning the brand as the premier choice for corporate events, private parties, and all special occasions. The role will also oversee full sales cycle from prospecting and leading event execution to delivering an exceptional guest experience.
Organizational Status
The Sales Manager works as part of the sales team.
Event support works with the Sales Manager to convert quotes into sales orders and issue menus to the kitchen.
The Sales Manager will be the exclusive contact for their customers who are having an event with Pickle Barrel Catering. They may also be the exclusive contact for a venue at which we are preferred caterers.
The Sales Manager will be the contact for 3rd party companies providing event services.
Work Performed
Sales calls and drop in visits to connect and develop new clients.
Source and ideate external and internal networking opportunities to build new business.
Respond to incoming inquiries from clients by creating attractive and comprehensive menus and quotes that will result in a prospective client confirming their event.
Communicate with clients and chefs to develop menus that will satisfy all types of events and attend to any and all specific dietary requirements.
Submitting, confirming and processing quotes into orders.
Communicating the needs of your clients to all parties involved in the execution of their event: staffing agencies, suppliers, operations and chefs.
Providing on-site supervision or direction to the onsite team to execute all aspects of their events.
Assist and complete RFP and RFQ’s.
Responsibilities for Quality of Work
The Sales Manager is the key contact to ensure the success of their events. Any work done by other individuals for the Sales Manager, conversion by event support, or staff booking by reception, is done as instructed by the Sales Manager and reviewed by the operating General Manager.
Menu selection, staffing, rentals and other third-party services are tasks of the Sales Manager to ensure they fit and meet the client and venue needs. The Sales Manager will ensure that all aspects of the event are attended to in a timely manner such that on Fridays at 10 am their menus are submitted for the production meeting.
Education/Work Experience
2-3 years of experience working in the catering/event management field with a recognized professional company.
Skills
Be an effective communicator both internally and externally.
A strong networker with sales experience.
Strong creative sense in generating new business.
Be proficient with computers in order to accurately and quickly create proposals and orders.
Be highly organized.
Be intuitive to be able to understand client’s needs and best respond to them.

Ability to commute/relocate:
Toronto, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
License/Certification:
Class G License (preferred)
Smart Serve Certification (preferred)
Food Handlers (preferred)
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Greater Toronto Area, ON (It is an in office position but will require the Sales Manager to travel for events)
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $50,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
