Position Title: Visiting Lecturer - Casual

This role involves visiting our Diploma in ECE, Bachelors in ECE (years 1, 2 & 3) and Masters in ECE students on their practicum experience in Early Childhood Centres and Kindergartens around the Bay of Plenty. The role includes the visits themselves and the writing of reports of your observations of the students.

Ngā mahi Key Responsibilities

This role will report to the Programme Manager – Education and English Language and the Visiting Lecturer will be responsible for:

Visiting your allocated students on practicum in a timely manner
Offering advice and support to your students when on visits
Taking part in triadic discussions with your students and their Associate Teachers
Writing up your observation reports on the students

You bring:

Experience in mentoring (student) teachers
A Bachelors or Masters in Early Childhood Education
Knowledge and understanding of the Treaty of Waitangi
New Zealand teacher registration
Ability to work with diverse cultures
Substantial work experience in an early childhood context
As these programmes are bicultural, knowledge of te reo me ngā tikanga Māori is highly desirable
