Job Description
Kitchen – Cook - The Mill Hotel
Please note: All necessary training will be provided.
10-20 hours per week. Shifts range from 0700-1100, 1130-1430, and 1700-2100
As a successful candidate you will have:
Previous experience required
Cleans food preparation areas as determined by law and company policy
Prepares foods to the specifications of the guest/customer and the company
Prepares food before the arrival of guests
Adjusts food items to accommodate guests/customers with allergies or specific diet concerns
Oversees other employees in the kitchen
Acts as liaison to front-of-house employees to ensure proper food service temperature
Seasons food according to recipes or company needs
Operates various kitchen appliances such as a blender, oven or grill
Portions, arranges, and garnishes food based on guest/customer preference
Assists other cooks during the food assembly process
Estimates expected food consumption and organised preparation
Cleans up after business hours
Communicates with owner about how to improve meal service
Alters dishes based on consumer suggestions or requirements
Complete required checklists for cleaning, hygiene, temperature control, transportation of food etc.
