He will be responsible for accurately processing customer transactions, providing product information, and maintaining a clean, organized checkout area. The ideal candidate should have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a positive attitude towards helping customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet customers as they arrive at the checkout counter.
Scan goods and ensure pricing accuracy.
Process cash, credit, and debit card payments.
Issue receipts, refunds, or exchanges when required.
Bag or package customer purchases.
Maintain a clean and orderly checkout area.
Answer customer inquiries and assist with product locations or store policies.
Balance cash registers at the end of shifts and ensure proper handling of cash.
Report discrepancies and issues to the supervisor as needed.
Follow store policies and procedures for returns and exchanges.
Ensure compliance with loss prevention and safety standards.
Skills and Qualifications:
Basic math and cash-handling skills.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to operate point-of-sale (POS) systems and handle transactions.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
Previous experience in retail or customer service (preferred but not required).
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift light to moderate weights.
Working Conditions:
Flexible work schedule, including weekends and holidays.
May involve standing for long periods and occasional lifting.
