Responsibilities
Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system accurately to process cash, credit, and mobile payments
Greet customers warmly and provide excellent customer service throughout their visit
Handle cash handling procedures with precision, including giving correct change and balancing registers at shift end
Upsell products by suggesting complementary items or promotions to increase sales opportunities
Assist with merchandising and stocking shelves to ensure product displays are attractive and organized
Conduct product demos when applicable to showcase new or featured items to customers
Maintain phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely
Support grocery store operations by managing inventory levels and alerting management of low stock items
Qualifications
Prior cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store environment is preferred
Familiarity with POS systems and basic retail math for transactions and balancing registers
Strong communication skills and the ability to provide friendly, professional customer interactions
Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve a diverse customer base effectively
Supervising experience is advantageous for those interested in leadership opportunities
Knowledge of grocery store operations, merchandising, and stock management is beneficial
Ability to handle stressful situations calmly while maintaining excellent phone etiquette and customer service standards
