Position Vacant – Qualified Carpenter
We’re on the lookout for a qualified carpenter to join our team in a full-time, wages-based role, starting as soon as you're available. We are part of a franchise residential construction business; we run our own business with support from the Franchisor. We deliver new homes in the Port Stephens and some surrounding areas.
We aim to promote a workplace culture which values trust, respect, and common sense over surveillance and tracking. We believe in treating our team like adults and creating a work environment where people feel supported—not scrutinised. Overtime is not something we do much of, but if you do – you can expect to be paid for it. In return, we need honesty, reliability and a self-motivated individual who isn’t afraid to get in and get the job done.
We are family owned and operated business, delivering more custom homes than high turnover. You can expect above award wages, which will be negotiated based on experience and suitability. We also offer something we believe is even more valuable— a great work environment where you're respected, trusted, and part of a close-knit team. If you need to duck out, you won’t be grilled on that within reason. Wages will be reviewed 6 months from start date where we (you and us) will consider how it’s all going, and look at things like reliability, performance and efficiency.
We’re about quality work, not unrealistic deadlines or pressure-cooker sites. If you value a healthy work-life balance, steady hours, and being treated like a human (not a number), you’ll fit right in here.
We’re after someone who:
Is honest, reliable, flexible, and a team player
Has the ability to work either autonomously or as part of a team
Is looking for a workplace which will offer them a long-term home where respect goes both ways.
Has a positive attitude and is capable of helping run a site, and working with an apprentice with guidance and support where needed from our builder and site supervisor
Takes pride in their work and delivers high-quality results
Can travel to and from work independently
The role will be varied depending on the needs of the business, so you’ll need to be adaptable. Ideally you will be well versed in all areas of carpentry from standing timber frames to internal fix outs and helping ensure that we meet critical milestones in a timely and efficient manner, while also producing the quality workmanship our clients value from us.
Typical site hours are 7:00am – 3:30pm Monday to Thursday and 7:30am – 1:00pm Fridays (if you leave before lunchbreak) to round out a 38-hour week.
If you’re ready to find a work home where you will be valued, I look forward to hearing from you.
