Job Overview
Black Bear Builders is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Carpenter to join our team in Banff, AB. The ideal candidate will have strong residential and commercial carpentry expertise, a high standard for quality workmanship, and the ability to execute tasks efficiently in line with Alberta building standards and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements.
Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
Construct, erect, install, and repair structures and frameworks (including wall framing, roofing, decking, finishes, and custom carpentry).
Inspect and replace damaged structures and fixtures.
Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant job site, following all OH&S safety standards.
Employment Requirements
Education: Completion of secondary school.
Trade Certification / Experience:
Minimum 5 years of hands-on carpentry experience (required).
Completion of a 2- to 4-year apprenticeship program OR a combination of 4+ years of work experience in the trade with relevant high school, college, or industry courses.
Licensing: Valid Driver’s Licence (required).
Location / Travel: Must be able to reliably commute to or relocate to Banff, AB before starting work.
