Job Description
Traffic Door King is a Canadian manufacturer of high-quality industrial doors used in food processing facilities, grocery stores, restaurants, commercial buildings, and industrial applications across Canada and the United States.
We are looking for an experienced Carpenter to join our growing manufacturing team in Surrey, BC. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys woodworking, building products, working with tools, solving problems, and taking pride in quality craftsmanship.
The ideal candidate has experience in carpentry, woodworking, cabinet making, millwork, door manufacturing, or a similar manufacturing environment. This role offers the opportunity to work on custom industrial products while contributing to a growing Canadian company.
Position Summary
The Carpenter will be responsible for assembling and manufacturing industrial doors while maintaining high standards of quality, accuracy, and workmanship.
This is a shop-based manufacturing role — not residential construction. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with their hands, reading drawings, using tools, and building quality products from start to finish.
There is also an opportunity for growth into a Lead Hand position for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
Assemble and manufacture industrial doors and related components.
Read production drawings, measurements, and work instructions.
Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
Perform woodworking, drilling, cutting, fitting, and assembly tasks.
Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met.
Troubleshoot issues and suggest improvements to production processes.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Work collaboratively with the production team to meet daily goals.
Assist with training and supporting team members as experience grows.
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of carpentry, woodworking, manufacturing, or related experience.
Experience with cabinet making, millwork, furniture manufacturing, commercial doors, or similar industries is preferred.
Comfortable using hand tools and power tools.
Ability to read drawings and accurately follow measurements.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Good problem-solving skills and a positive attitude.
Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Legally authorized to work in Canada.
