Make a Meaningful Impact Behind the Scenes at Capital City College

Are you ready to make an impact at one of London’s leading Further Education providers? Capital City College is looking for a skilled Careers and Employability Advisor to support and drive key operational functions, helping shape the future of education in the heart of London.

About the Role

This role is offered on a full time, fixed term basis untill 14 August 2026.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Careers and Employability Adviser to join our dynamic Enterprise, Employability and Careers (EEC) team. This is a key role within our student support services, working with a wide range of learners across post-16 and adult education. You will provide personalised guidance and coordinate high-quality careers education and employability activities that support progression into university, apprenticeships, employment or enterprise.

You will work closely with the EEC Manager, curriculum teams and external partners to plan and deliver an engaging careers programme aligned with the Matrix Standard and Gatsby Benchmarks. You will support learners through one-to-one guidance, targeted group sessions and by leading events such as careers fairs, employer talks, and university visits. Supporting the development of employability skills and widening participation will be central to your work. Please note you will need to be confident speaking to groups of students, delivering in classrooms, and representing the service in front of external stakeholders including employers and university partners.

About you:

You will hold a Level 6 qualification in Careers Guidance (essential for shortlisting) and have experience of working in a similar role within an educational setting.
A clear understanding of post-18 pathways including UCAS, apprenticeships and vocational routes is essential.
You will have experience provide one-to-one careers guidance tailored to individual needs
Deliver group sessions on HE pathways, apprenticeships, employability and enterprise
Advise students on Student Finance and bursary support options
Coordinate careers events, workshops, and university visits
Develop digital and print resources to support students’ career planning
