Role Description The Captain Waiter is responsible for supervising the dining area, coordinating service, and ensuring guests receive prompt, courteous, and accurate service throughout their visit. This full-time, on-site role in New Delhi includes overseeing table assignments, guiding service staff, taking and confirming orders, and checking food presentation before serving. The Captain Waiter handles guest inquiries and concerns, supports upselling of menu items, and collaborates with the kitchen team to ensure smooth communication. Additional duties include monitoring cleanliness and setup of the restaurant, assisting with training new service staff, and following all food safety and hygiene standards.
Qualifications
• Candidates should possess strong Customer Service skills, including hospitality orientation and the ability to handle guest feedback professionally.
• Candidates should possess Food & Beverage and Food Service skills, with knowledge of menu items, order-taking, serving standards, and basic restaurant operations.
• Candidates should possess clear Communication skills to coordinate with guests, service staff, and kitchen teams effectively.
• Candidates should possess basic Cooking or food handling awareness to understand preparation times, ingredients, and presentation requirements.
• Experience in a supervisory or senior waiter role in a restaurant or hotel environment is preferred.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, work flexible shifts, and manage peak-hour operations efficiently.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices and adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Minimum high school education or equivalent; additional hospitality training or certification is an advantage.
