Description:
The opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Capability Superintendent to step into a newly created, high‑impact role supporting our Capability Manager. Based on site at our Duketon Operations on an 8:6 FIFO roster, this position offers a unique opportunity to shape and influence the capability and development landscape across our workforce.
In this role, you will lead the delivery and continuous improvement of capability, training, and leadership development initiatives for Duketon Operations. You will play a key part in ensuring our people, employees and contractors alike meet the highest standards of operational performance, safety, behaviour, and leadership, while maintaining full compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements.
You will oversee the Training Management System, conduct capability assessments, audit contractor compliance, and drive programs that uplift workforce capability and foster a culture of psychological safety across site.
This is a FIFO role (8:6 roster) from Perth.
The main responsibilities of this role include:
Workforce Capability & Leadership Development
Design and deliver programs to strengthen frontline and emerging leader capability
Oversee all early career development programs and initiatives
Implement solutions to reinforce behavioural expectations and drive culture uplift
Capability & Leadership Needs Analysis
Conduct capability assessments across operational, supervisory, and leadership roles
Identify capability risks and future skill needs
Develop site‑aligned capability plans that support operational targets
Capability Governance
Maintain and improve capability systems supporting operational competence, safety‑critical skills, behavioural capability, and leadership development
Ensure site capability practices meet project, regulatory, and corporate standards
Confirm contractors meet Regis capability and competency requirements
Learning Management System (LMS)
Lead the site LMS (INX Intuition), ensuring accurate data and alignment with capability requirements
Implement digital improvements to enhance training effectiveness
Safety Leadership
Embed psychological safety principles across development programs
Build safe work behaviours through leadership and behavioural training
Support employees in meeting operational and safety expectations
Collaboration
Work with site leaders and technical specialists to enhance workforce capability
Partner with Corporate Capability and P&C to maintain alignment with frameworks
Reporting & Monitoring
Track and report training performance, recommending improvements
Ensure accurate compliance reporting and partner with IT on dashboard development
About you
To be successful for this role, you will have:
Tertiary qualification in HR, OD, psychology or similar (desirable)
Cert IV in Training & Assessment
Proven ability to design and deliver leadership, safety and behavioural programs for frontline and middle leaders
Confident partnering with site leaders and contractors to lift capability and operational readiness
Able to influence, coach and support leaders
Strong site-based experience in capability, training or leadership development within mining/resources
Skilled in managing training/capability systems (e.g., INX Intuition)
Solid understanding of operational training, safety capability and behavioural development
Excellent communication, facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills
Comfortable using capability data and workforce analytics to guide decisions
Strong analytical, organisational and planning skills
Proficiency in training needs analysis, instructional design, and evaluation of training effectiveness
