Do you have a passion for helping students thrive in their education?
OneSchool Global Nelson Campus is looking for a committed Student Support Assistant (Teacher Aide) to join our team. This role focuses on supporting students, with a preference for candidates who have experience working with students requiring high needs learning or behavioral support.
About the Role:
Work with a small group of students and on an individual basis throughout the day.
Support students with their independent learning across a range of subjects.
Assist in keeping students engaged, motivated, and on track with their learning goals.
Collaborate with teachers to ensure the best support strategies are in place.
Support Year 10 students with learning, neurodiverse students with ADHD
Create strategies to engage students in the Study.
Support with planning, learning and behaviour.
What We’re Looking For:
A caring and patient approach with a passion for helping students succeed.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Empathetic and patient approach to their support
Ability to work independently while following structured learning plans.
Previous experience working with students who have learning challenges, specifically secondary level (Year 7-13) is desired but not essential.
Role Details:
Hours: 24 hours per week, starting at 8:30 am (Monday – Thursday)
Weeks: This role is a 40 weeks per annum position. School holidays off.
Start Date: Term 3, 2026
Role Type: Fixed Term Contract until 11th December 2026, with possibility to be renewed.
Location: Nelson Campus, OneSchool Global NZ
Remuneration: Competitive remuneration
