As a Disclosure Analyst, you will process requests to access information under the Access to Information Act (ATIA) and Protection of Privacy Act (POPA) according to statutorily imposed criteria, within mandatory response times as well assist on privacy impact assessments. Primary duties include:

Process requests for information from the public, media, researchers, lawyers, and provincial and federal government agencies.
Locate, collect, and analyze responsive records, determining the extent of disclosure in accordance with the Acts.
Disclose requested records within the statutorily imposed 30- business day, time limit or apply time extensions as authorized under the Acts and by the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner (OIPC).
Record the redactions made to ensure all redactions are identified.
Assist in the preparation and review of privacy impact assessments.
Respond to inquiries from the public and Calgary Police Service (CPS) personnel regarding the right to access information under the ATIA and POPA and the procedures for obtaining access to CPS records.
Act as a resource for CPS employees in relation to their responsibilities under the ATIA, POPA and CPS Policy.
Working Conditions: Regular exposure to graphic and sensitive material. High volume work environment.

Qualifications
A certificate equivalent to 1 year of full-time study in Information Access and Privacy or related field and a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in access and privacy or similar offices; OR A diploma in a related field and a minimum of 3 years of experience in access and privacy or similar offices; OR a degree in a related field and a minimum of 1 year of experience in access and privacy or similar offices.
Working knowledge of privacy legislation is required, with preference given to the Access to Information Act and Protection of Privacy Act (formerly Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, FOIP).
Experience writing privacy impact assessments is an asset.
Experience using electronic information management applications (for example: SharePoint, Content Server, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Premiere Pro) is preferred,
Experience working in a law enforcement or a legal environment is considered an asset.

Pre-employment Requirements
An enhanced security clearance will be conducted.
Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications. Education obtained from out of country must have or be able to obtain, an Education Credential Assessment (ECA) for confirmation of equivalent credentials.

Compensation: Pay Grade 11 $46.21 - 61.78 per hour
Days of Work: This position typically works a 5 day
work week with 1 day off in each 3 week cycle.

Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
