The Opportunity

As a Café Attendant, you will assist in the daily operations of our hospital cafe. This will involve preparation and selling of coffee, tea and other beverages along with basic food preparation in a prompt, friendly and efficient manner.

To ensure our high-quality standards are maintained, this role will see you responsible for maintaining cleanliness in line with required food safety, infection control and hospital standards.

Your duties will also include:

Distribution/collection of customer menus, food trays, beverages as well as basic food preparation
Cleaning and sanitising workstations and food court areas;
Providing fast, friendly and exceptional customer service;
Display a strong level of team commitment whilst also having the ability to work autonomously where required.

Skills and Experience

To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate experience in a similar role. You will have the ability to work effectively in a team or independently as required, within a fast-paced café environment. Your ability to prioritise tasks effectively will assist with your excellent time management skills.

You will also bring:

Completion of a TAFE plus statement Barista course or equivalent from a recognised institute with experience working as a Barista
Experience in food and beverage preparation
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Ability and flexibility to work a variety of shifts on a rotating roster
Cash handling experience
Experience in the health care industry (Desired)
