Bookkeeper / Office Manager (Legal)
Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Bookkeeper / Office Manager (Legal) to join our legal practice. This role is essential in maintaining accurate financial records, maintaining the highest standard of record-keeping for trust account, managing office operations, and supporting the firm’s administrative functions. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting skills, experience with various accounting software, and the ability to handle sensitive legal financial data with confidentiality. Responsibilities
Manage all aspects of bookkeeping including accounts payable and accounts receivable processing
Perform account reconciliation and bank reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial data
Utilize accounting software (Quickbooks) and law-office-specific accounting software for daily financial transactions and reporting
Conduct account analysis and assist with budgeting processes to support financial planning
Oversee payroll processing and ensure compliance with relevant regulations
Maintain organized financial records in accordance with legal standards, firm policies, Law Society requirements, and trust accounting rules.
Support office management tasks including administrative duties, document preparation, and client communication
Ensure timely and accurate entry of financial data into accounting systems
Assist with year-end closing activities and prepare reports for legal review
Experience
Proven experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or office management, preferably within a legal or professional services environment
Proficiency with accounting software such as Quickbooks
Strong understanding of payroll processing, accounts payable/receivable, and account reconciliation procedures
Knowledge of legal industry-specific financial practices is a plus
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
Familiarity with budgeting processes and account analysis techniques
Prior experience handling sensitive financial information with confidentiality and professionalism

Pay: From $30.00 per hour
