About Us:
SP Joinery (Leeds) Ltd is a small, family-run construction company based in North Leeds, delivering professional joinery and construction services across UK. Known for our reliable service and long-standing client relationships, we take pride in our craftsmanship, consistency, and close-knit working culture. We're now looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to support our continued growth and play a key role in our financial operations.
Key responsibilities:
· Manage daily bookkeeping tasks using Sage 50 and Sage 50 Payroll
· Process sales and purchase ledger and maintain records
· Action CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) deductions and submissions
· Perform bank reconciliations
· Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns in line with HMRC regulations
· Process staff salaries/wages, expenses claims and holiday requests
· Maintain accurate financial records and assist with internal reporting
· Ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws and construction industry standards
· Provide general administrative support where needed eg booking of training courses, ordering stationery, maintaining vehicle records etc
What we’re looking for:
· Proven experience as a Bookkeeper
· Proficiency in Sage 50 & Sage 50 Payroll
· Knowledge of CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) / Reverse Charge VAT preferred
· Strong knowledge of UK tax regulations and payroll compliance
· High attention to detail and solid organisational skills
· Ability to work independently & meet deadlines with minimal supervision
