Boiler Operation Engineer
Job Description
• Operate and maintain FBC Boilers with a combined steam generation capacity of 20–100 TPH.
• Ensure optimum steam generation and uninterrupted utility supply to manufacturing operations.
• Supervise operation and preventive maintenance of DM Plant, RO Plant, Softener Plant, and Water Treatment Systems.
• Operate and maintain 3 Thermic Fluid Heaters for continuous process requirements.
• Monitor boiler efficiency, fuel consumption, steam parameters, and utility performance.
• Ensure proper water chemistry and boiler feed water quality.
• Coordinate annual shutdowns, preventive maintenance, statutory inspections, and boiler certification activities.
• Ensure compliance with the Boilers Act, Indian Boiler Regulations (IBR), Gujarat Boiler Rules, and other statutory requirements.
• Lead troubleshooting of mechanical and operational issues related to boilers and utility equipment.
• Ensure safe startup, shutdown, and emergency handling of boiler operations.
• Maintain statutory logbooks, operation records, maintenance history, and inspection reports.
• Monitor coal, fuel, ash handling, steam distribution, and utility consumption.
• Coordinate with production, maintenance, electrical, instrumentation, and EHS teams for uninterrupted plant operation.
• Drive energy conservation, cost optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with safety, housekeeping (5S), and environmental standards.
• Lead and develop boiler operators and utility maintenance teams.
Qualification
• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering may be considered with relevant experience.
• Mandatory: Valid Boiler Operation Engineer (BOE) Certificate issued/recognized by the Gujarat Boiler Board/Steam Boiler Directorate, Government of Gujarat. Candidates holding BOE certificates from other states must have the certificate endorsed/recognized by the Government of Gujarat,
