About Us:
Resendes Design Group LLC (RDG) is a boutique architectural firm based in Detroit's New Center district. Established in 2010, RDG is a third-generation Detroit practice built upon a 57-year design legacy, providing planning, management, and architectural design services to education, historic preservation, nonprofit, hospitality, and commercial clients.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated BIM / Revit Designer with 3 to 5 years of professional experience to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is passionate about architecture, eager to contribute to every phase of the design process - from conceptual design and renderings through schematic design (SD), design development (DD), and construction documents (CD) - and excited to grow professionally within a collaborative, hands-on studio environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with project teams to create and refine detailed BIM models throughout all design phases.
Develop high-quality conceptual designs, renderings, and visualizations to support client presentations.
Produce and manage accurate SD, DD, and CD documents, ensuring consistency and compliance with project goals.
Create detailed BIM/Revit models from point cloud scans and perform field verification, site measurements, and documentation to accurately capture existing as-built conditions
Assist in the coordination of interdisciplinary designs, ensuring seamless integration across structural, MEP, and other systems.
Proactively identify design and technical challenges by adapting to changing project conditions and requirements.
Stay up to date with the latest BIM software, tools, and industry trends to enhance workflow efficiency and project quality.
Qualifications:
5+ years of professional experience in architectural design, with a focus on BIM / Revit modeling and documentation.
Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD, with working knowledge of Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite, and 3D visualization/rendering software such as Lumion and D5 Render.
Strong understanding of architectural design processes, building codes, and construction documentation standards.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
