A key focus of the coming years will be working with the State and Federal Governments to establish Melbourne Airport Rail; to complete redevelopment of Sunshine and Albion Stations; and the realisation of the Sunshine Precinct Masterplan which will Sunshine transformed into a CBD, vastly increasing local jobs, housing, businesses, services and tourism to provide for the many tens of thousands of people living, working and travelling through the Brimbank.

The municipality has a large asset base, and has a broad range of opportunities to innovate, plan and deliver to better meet its community’s needs.

We are currently seeking a Full Time Permanent staff member to join our team based at our offices in Sunshine.


The role

Reporting to the Better Ways- Continuous Improvement Coordinator, we are seeking a continuous improvement enthusiast who can bring their skills and experience to:

Uplift organisation capability in continuous improvement
Support the implementation of a continuous improvement methodology, associated reference materials, tools, templates, training collateral, systems, processes and reporting.
Lead the implementation of process mapping
Support the establishment of the pilot ‘Better Ways Lab’, a dedicated visual management and collaboration space
Support the establishment of Corporate reporting metrics, protocols and mechanisms across a range of Council datasets
Provide continuous improvement advice and support to all levels of the organisation and project community.
Support and drive a continuous improvement culture across Council.

To be considered you will have:

Ability to work in accordance with our values and behaviours

Experience working in Business Improvement/ Continuous Improvement / Service Design / Change Management functions in a complex organisation.
Demonstrated experience in implementing or utilising process mapping across teams.
Demonstrated experience in leading or delivering continuous improvement initiatives.
Tertiary qualifications in Business Improvement / Business Analysis / Service Design or related disciplines are desired. Candidates with less formal qualifications but demonstrated relevant experience will be considered.
Strong communication skills with demonstrated ability to effectively engage stakeholders and communicate complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong analytical and strategic problem-solving skills.
Desirable - Experience in developing and delivering process and systems training.
Desirable – Demonstrated experience working in experience in developing and delivering an organisation wide continuous improvement / service improvement framework in a complex organisation such as local government.
Experience in local government-related frameworks and solutions is highly desirable
