Mandatory Skills
• Strong understanding of battery technologies and BESS architecture
• Knowledge of PCS, EMS, BMS, SCADA integration, and grid-support functionalities
• Familiarity with BESS performance metrics: efficiency, degradation, availability, cycling capability
• Ability to interpret operational data, alarms, trends, and performance reports
• Strong documentation, research, and technical writing skills
Good To Have Skills
Hands-on exposure to Solar + BESS or Wind + BESS hybrid plants Knowledge of grid services (frequency response, peak shaving, arbitrage, black start) Experience with advanced analytics, digital twins, or predictive diagnostics Participation in internal CoEs, R&D teams, or standards bodies

Responsibilities
Capability & Knowledge Development
Develop technical standards, design guidelines, SOPs, and best-practice playbooks for BESS projects Design and deliver structured training programs, certifications, and upskilling workshops for engineering, O&M, EPC, Act as internal Subject Matter Expert (SME) for BESS technology, safety, and performance Support onboarding and competency development for storage-focused roles
Safety, Compliance & Risk Management
Develop and maintain BESS safety frameworks covering thermal runaway, fire risk, electrical hazards, and emergency Align internal guidelines with global and local standards (IEC, IEEE, UL, NFPA, IS, grid codes) Support hazard analysis, FMEA, HAZOP, and safety audits Contribute to incident investigations, lessons-learned reviews, and preventive strategy updates
Performance Benchmarking & Continuous Improvement
Benchmark BESS performance against industry standards and peer portfolios Analyze degradation behavior, availability, cycling performance, and efficiency losses Support continuous improvement initiatives across design, commissioning, and operations Feed operational insights and RCA outcomes into updated standards and training materials
Cross-Functional & External Collaboration
Partner with Engineering, EPC, O&M, Asset Management, Commercial, and Grid Integration teams Provide technical inputs during feasibility studies, vendor evaluations, and design reviews Support due diligence, lender technical advisor responses, and regulatory submissions Engage with OEMs, system integrators, research institutions, and industry forums
Documentation, Governance & Knowledge Management
Build and maintain a centralized BESS knowledge repository (designs, standards, learnings, data) Support technical governance, audits, and compliance reviews Contribute to ESG, resilience, and sustainability initiatives Standardize documentation for repeatable, scalable BESS deployment
Tools and Software
