The Benefits Analyst plays a dual role in the operational execution and strategic support of the LHSC employee benefit programs, including health, dental, life, and Health Care Spending Accounts (HCAS's). Reporting to the Manager, Employee Services, and supporting the Benefits Consultant, the Benefits Analyst is responsible for benefit administration, communication, data analysis, and audit activities. The role also includes gathering and interpreting data to inform decision-making, support policy development, and improve employee experience and organizational outcomes.

Regular Full-Time

Rate of Pay: $34.22 per hour - $42.78 per hour

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week
Qualifications
As the ideal candidate, you have:
Successful completion of a College Diploma in Business, Accounting, or Human Resources
Minimum two (2) years recent, related job experience in the Human Resources field
Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP), or Employee Benefits (CEBS) designations preferred
Benefit Administration experience preferred
Proficiency with HRIS platforms such as PeopleSoft
Proficiency in all key components of Office 365 (Word, Outlook, Power Point etc) with strong knowledge and understanding of Excel and other data tools
Attention to detail for data entry accuracy and maintenance for employee benefit records
Ability to perform benefit audits and reconcile discrepancies across systems
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills with ability to identify problems and determine corrective actions
Proficient time management and organization skills to work in deadline sensitive environment
Knowledge of group benefit plans (ex. Health, dental, life, HCSA)
Effective communication skills, and demonstration of consistent customer service orientation when responding to benefit inquiries and escalations
Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with the Benefit Consultant as well as all other relevant teams
Familiarity with legislation and regulations related to employee benefits (ex. ESA, CRA, HCSA guidelines) preferred
Understanding of vendor coordination and relationship management (ex. With HOOPP, Insurance Carrier) preferred
Experience with cost modeling and financial impact analysis for benefits programs preferred
Experience with data analysis and interpretation for benefits utilization and costing preferred
Knowledge of LHSC Collective Agreements, Hospital Policy (as it pertains to benefits) preferred
Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC's Vision, Purpose and Values
Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
