We’re looking for a culturally responsive professional with strong community connections and experience working with Victorian Aboriginal communities, Traditional Owner groups and the Aboriginal service sector.

You’ll play a key role in designing, delivering and strengthening programs and initiatives that respond to community priorities, building trusted partnerships and ensuring outcomes are practical, relevant and impactful.

You will:

Support the development, coordination and delivery of programs and projects at Barrbunin Beek Gathering Place.
Work with the Coordinator and Committee of Management to support the development and implementation of the strategic plan and action plan.
Build and maintain strong partnerships with community organisations, networks and stakeholders, and represent the Committee in engagement opportunities.
Help identify and pursue funding opportunities to support staffing, resources and strategic priorities.
Support safe and effective operations, including OH&S compliance, auspice arrangements and project deliverables.
What you'll bring/what we are looking for

We’re looking for a culturally responsive and community-connected professional who leads with respect, listens well and understands how to work in genuine partnership with the community. You’ll bring strong experience in community engagement, project delivery, and partnership building, along with the ability to navigate relationships, support good governance, and contribute to work grounded in cultural understanding, collaboration, and practical action.

Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities in community engagement, capacity building and development.
Strong ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with members of the Victorian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, and to build trusted partnerships with stakeholders.
Experience in program planning, implementation and evaluation, with the ability to support projects from ideas through to delivery.
Experience working with Committees of Management, and the ability to advocate, influence and work collaboratively to achieve community outcomes.
Sound understanding of local government, along with good administrative and financial management skills.

What we offer:

A fixed-term (until 30 June 2027), part-time role (FTE 0.8 or 34 Hours per week – Monday to Thursday)
Salary range $87,894.97 to $95,609.78 per annum plus super (dependent on experience)
For comparison, at full-time, this is equivalent to $98,255.03 to $106,820.88 per annum.
26 weeks of paid parental leave - primary carer/4 weeks of paid parental leave - partner
