Join our vibrant Italian Sandwich Shop in Toronto, renowned for authentic flavors and handcrafted creations. We are looking for a dedicated individual to help us deliver delicious sandwiches and fresh baked Tuscan Focaccia that keep our customer coming back for more.

Job Description

As a baker and prep cook, you will be essential in producing high quality Schiacciata and supporting our sandwich offerings. Your role will involve baking fresh bread daily, preparing ingredients and assisting in sandwich assembly to ensure an exceptional customer experience.

Responsibilities

Prepare and baked authentic Italian bread, Tuscan Focaccia on a daily basis
Mix Ferment, shape, and proof dough while maintaining consistency in flavor, texture and appearance
Monitor dough hydration, fermentation times, and oven temperatures.
Adjust recipes based on humidity, flour quality or seasonal changes.
Prepare spreads, toppings and ingredients for sandwiches
Support sandwich assembly and ensure product presentation aligns with quality standards
Rotate stock and manage flour, yeast and ingredient inventory
Maintain cleanliness and adhere to food safety standards, sanitizing equipment and work areas regularly
follow all health and safety regulations at all times
assist team members with various tasks to ensure smooth operation
Be open to creative input, seasonal specials and new menu ideas
Qualifications

Passion for baking and Italian cuisine
Previous experience in a bakery or sandwich shop preferred
Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
Ability to work efficiently in a fast - paced environment
Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Ability to stand for long periods
Capable of lifting up to 50lbs and navigating stairs regularly
