Job summary
The Automotive Parts Associate works in a fast-paced retail environment to deliver friendly and courteous service to customers. The role involves constant interaction with customers and with outside vendors with the use of a computerized automotive parts look-up system.

Responsibilities:
Greet customers promptly and professionally while providing exceptional customer service.
Listen carefully to customer concerns and accurately document vehicle symptoms and requested repairs.
Open, manage, and close repair orders using the dealership management system.
Prepare accurate estimates for maintenance and parts.
Schedule appointments and effectively manage the daily shop workflow.
Coordinate repair priorities with the Service advisors and Licensed Automotive Technicians if need be.
Communicate repair progress, delays, and completion updates to customers.
Review technician inspection reports and ensure all recommendations are presented to customers.
Recommend preventative maintenance services based on manufacturer schedules and vehicle condition.
Promote seasonal services including tire changeovers, wheel alignments, rustproofing, batteries, brakes, oil changes, wiper blades, air filters, and other maintenance services.
Upsell products and services that genuinely benefit the customer while maintaining trust and transparency.
Ensure all work orders are accurate, complete, and properly documented.
Verify parts availability with the Parts Department and coordinate special orders when required.
Review completed work orders with customers and explain all completed repairs and charges.
Process customer payments and close repair orders accurately.
Handle customer questions, concerns, and complaints professionally while working toward satisfactory resolutions.
Maintain regular communication with the Service Manager regarding shop capacity, customer concerns, and workflow priorities.
Assist in achieving departmental sales, gross margin, labour sales, and customer satisfaction objectives.
Follow up with customers after service when appropriate to ensure satisfaction and encourage repeat business.
