At the State of California, we are seeking a skilled Automobile Mechanic Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing minor and major automobile and heavy equipment repairs, including tune-ups, electrical repairs, break relining and adjusting, carburetor repairs, minor body repair, transmission, axle and differential repair.
Works near fast-moving machinery or traffic.
Periodic Overtime.
May be required to respond after work hour.
Operates heavy motorized vehicles.
Works at elevated heights.
May be exposed to extreme temperatures, airborne dust, fumes, vapors, chemicals, medical waste and blood borne pathogen.
Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, kneeling, bending, and lifting.
Strenuous physical activity and heavy lifting.
The ideal candidate will have experience as an Automobile Mechanic and be able to maintain valid CDL. Additionally, they will have knowledge of Materials Safety Data Sheet (MSDS), Bio Hazard Signs and Symbols, Medical Waste Disposal Regulations/Safe Handling Practices, Health and Safety practices, governmental procurement rules, regulations and procedures.
