We are recruiting an Autoclave & Washer Systems Engineer to join our technical team.

About the job

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Autoclave & Washer Systems Engineer to join our team, initially based across our Bellshill and Dunston sites. You will be responsible for the planned and reactive maintenance, calibration, and validation of our steam autoclave fleet across both sites, working to the relevant ISO standards.

This is an evolving role with genuine scope for development. As you become established within the team, the role will expand to include the maintenance and calibration of additional sterilisation and decontamination systems, including washer disinfectors, Water for Injection (WFI) and RO systems. We are looking for someone who is technically capable, forward thinking, and keen to grow with the business.

Key responsibilities

· Planned and reactive maintenance of steam autoclaves across the Bellshill and Dunston sites – including travelling

· Calibration of autoclave instrumentation in accordance with HTM and UKAS standards

· Breakdown diagnosis and fault finding to component level

· Performing qualification and validation activities in line with site quality and regulatory requirements (ISO 13485, ISO 17665, ISO 15883) for new & existing equipment

· Prepare for insurance inspections where required

· As the role develops — maintenance and calibration of washer disinfectors, WFI systems and other equipment onsite

· Accurate and timely completion of service records and maintenance documentation

· Liaising with the quality and validation team to support scheduled requalification activities

· Supporting audits where required

· Conduct NC investigations for any of the applicable equipment

Technical Requirements

· Previous experience servicing and maintaining large vacuum steam autoclaves — essential

· Electrical and/or mechanical engineering background — essential

· HTM/STM autoclave validation certificate — essential or working towards

· Understanding of HTM 01-01 (Part C for steam and Part D for Washer Disinfectors) and relevant steam sterilisation standards

· Experience of calibration activities and maintenance of process instrumentation

· Ability to fault find and troubleshoot to component level

· Competent in completing service and validation documentation

· Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)

· Literate in specialised autoclave software

· Full UK driving licence — essential

· Experience of washer disinfectors or WFI systems — desirable but not essential as training will be provided

Pay: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
