Primary objective
To lead and manage whole school Curriculum, Timetabling, and support Student Wellbeing Services across the school.
Participate as an active member of the executive and senior leadership team in school wide improvement.
Context statement
Sanderson High School is located in Malak and has an enrolment of approximately 430 students. The school caters for Years
7–10 and draws students from the suburbs of Anula, Karama, Malak, Northlakes, and Wulagi, as well as students from other
areas, including those enrolled in the Intensive English program and ESL learners.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Promote, monitor, and evaluate effective implementation of whole of school curriculum and pathways that meets diverse
student needs.
2. Manage and oversee the day-to-day administration of Timetabling, Compass, enrolments, staff, and student wellbeing.
3. Drive the School’s vision by fostering a professional, high-expectations culture and implementing evidence-based
improvement plans, while building Senior Teachers’ instructional leadership to strengthen classroom practice, student
engagement, and independent learning.
4. Liaise with appropriate agencies, including Department of Education, to ensure effective support for staff and students.
5. Provide leadership and guidance to staff especially in developing positive relations with parents/carers and other
members of the wider community.
6. Undertake teaching duties and deputise for the Principal when required.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated leadership of curriculum innovation and wellbeing strategies relating to this position.
2. Proven ability to manage and develop staff, with a focus on achieving strategic targets and improved student outcomes.
3. Proven ability to effectively develop partnerships and interagency relationships to improve student learning outcomes.
4. Proven ability to effectively use Timetabling Solutions to develop, analyse and adjust complex school timetables in
response to staffing, curriculum, and student needs.
5. Demonstrated successful application of communication, negotiation and restorative approaches to conflict resolution
and expertise in successful communication with parents/carers and the community.
6. Ability to interact effectively with people from diverse cultures.

The successful applicant must be registered with the Teacher Registration Board of the Northern Territory and to hold a
current Working with Children Notice (Ochre Card) from SAFE NT, prior to appointment.
