Position Summary
The Assistant General Manager (AGM) plays a key leadership role in ensuring smooth daily operations, strong team performance, and consistently excellent guest experiences. This hands-on role supports the General Manager in managing front-of-house operations, training and leading the team, and maintaining the service standards that define Sprezzatura’s reputation.
Ideal candidates bring a strong background in hospitality, an eye for detail, and a passion for Italian cuisine and culture.

Core Responsibilities
Guest Experience Service Standards
Ensure daily service meets or exceeds operational standards and brand expectations.
Maintain clean, organized, and well-set dining areas, including bar and private event setups.
Monitor food and beverage presentation, timing, and quality to ensure consistency.
Lead pre-shift meetings to align staff on service goals and guest priorities.
Proactively address and resolve guest concerns with professionalism and urgency.
Regular Guest Relationships
Build, maintain, and grow relationships with regular guests and local community members.
Recognize and acknowledge returning guests to create a sense of familiarity and loyalty.
Work with the GM to identify guest preferences and personalise service wherever possible.
Team Leadership Development
Support recruitment, training, and coaching of all front-of-house staff.
Deliver in-service training sessions and continuous development for servers, bartenders, and hosts.
Foster a collaborative, respectful, and inclusive workplace culture focused on accountability and support.
Lead by example during service, setting the tone for professionalism and teamwork.
Operations Administration
Oversee daily operations including shift coverage, opening and closing procedures.
Conduct daily cash-out, tip distribution, and POS reconciliation.
Manage banking responsibilities such as deposits and end-of-day reporting.
Monitor and manage labour costs to align with sales targets and productivity goals.
Collaborate on inventory, ordering, and supply management to ensure readiness for service.
Ensure full compliance with all health, safety, and liquor laws and regulations.
Events, Marketing Communication
Assist with the planning and execution of private events and group reservations.
Support guest engagement through basic social media activity and in-house promotions.
Respond to online reviews professionally and constructively when required.
Contribute to building the restaurant’s presence through word-of-mouth, community ties, and local outreach.

What We’re Looking For
Minimum 2 years in a supervisory or management role in a full-service restaurant.
Strong foundation in Italian cuisine, wine knowledge, and bar operations.
Ability to lead teams effectively while delivering a great guest experience.
Knowledge of restaurant systems including POS (we use Lightspeed), scheduling, and reporting tools.
High attention to detail, emotional intelligence, and conflict-resolution skills.
Comfortable with a fast-paced environment and open to occasional doubles or extended shifts.
Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
