The Role
Are you ready to make your mark in a high performing, values-led organisation that’s shaping the future of insurance? We’re looking for a detail-driven and proactive Assistant Company Secretary to support our Corporate Governance function. Reporting to the General Manager, Corporate Governance, this role offers a unique opportunity to work at the heart of Board operations and executive decision making.
Position Accountabilities
In this key role, you’ll take charge of:
Coordinate and manage Board and Committee meetings from end to end, including agendas, papers, minutes, and action tracking.
Attend and accurately minute key governance forums and Executive meetings.
Ensure all governance records, statutory filings, and company registers are maintained to the highest standard.
Provide hands on support with our Board portal (Diligent Board Books) and help onboard governance tech enhancements.
Collaborate on corporate projects and play an active role in rolling out new governance policies and procedures.
Build relationships with senior leaders and become a trusted governance advisor across the Group.
Contribute to the continuous improvement and maturity of our corporate governance culture.
What experience you’ll bring
At least 3 years of experience supporting Boards or executive teams in a governance or compliance focused role.
Strong understanding of Australia’s corporate governance landscape, preferably within financial services.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence in engaging senior stakeholders.
A proactive mindset; you’re organised, responsive, and resilient under pressure.
Impeccable attention to detail, a natural problem solver, and trusted with confidential information.
High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or Google Suite.
Experience with digital Board tools (e.g., Diligent) is highly desirable.
Qualifications in Law, Governance, or a related discipline, and membership of a professional body (e.g., Governance Institute of Australia) is highly regarded.
