Position Title: Art Studio Host
Location: Morinville, AB
Employment Type: Part‑Time (15–20 hours per week)
Compensation: Starting at $15.00/hour, with opportunities for wage increases based on training milestones, teaching responsibilities, and performance.
Job Summary
The Art Studio Host is responsible for creating a warm, welcoming, and engaging environment for guests of all ages at The Cat Lady’s Art Studio. This role blends customer service, art activity facilitation, and studio operations. The ideal candidate is friendly, energetic, passionate about creativity, and comfortable working with children and the public. While artistic experience is an asset, a positive attitude, reliability, and a willingness to learn are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Experience: Greet visitors warmly, provide information about available art activities, and ensure every guest feels supported and inspired.
Art Facilitation: Assist participants—especially children—with art projects, ensuring safe and proper use of supplies while encouraging creative expression.
Instruction Support: Lead art activities or demonstrate a strong willingness to learn studio curriculum and teaching methods.
Studio Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized studio environment; set up materials before activities and clean up afterward; restock retail shelves and art supplies.
Event Support: Assist with setup and breakdown for workshops, birthday parties, and community events.
Guest Services: Handle check‑ins, manage class/event registrations, respond to inquiries, and provide guidance on basic art techniques.
Safety & Policies: Ensure adherence to studio safety protocols and policies at all times.
Program Promotion: Share information about upcoming classes, programs, and special events to enhance guest engagement.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with the studio owner and team to maintain a smooth, welcoming, and creative environment.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience working with children in educational, recreational, or customer‑facing settings preferred.
Strong communication and public‑speaking skills; comfortable engaging with diverse audiences.
Excellent customer service abilities and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
Ability to handle cash transactions accurately (POS experience is an asset).
Creative mindset with a passion for art, learning, and community involvement.
