The Role
Naval Construction Branch (NCB) is seeking a dedicated and motivated individual for the role of APS6 Logistics Assurance Officer and become a valuable addition to the team. This position supports the implementation and delivery of continuous shipbuilding and is an integral part of the Logistics Directorate within NCB. The Logistics Directorate goals are to deliver the NCB capability efficiently and effectively, and to continuously improve strategies and processes.

You will be required to work within a framework of legislation, established principles, work practices and procedures in accordance with Defence’s mission and business objectives. You will also be required to engage with relevant stakeholders to identify expectations and concerns and develop a clear understanding of the issues and solutions to achieve outcomes.

Key responsibilities are (but not limited to):

Lead and conduct CoA compliance assurance activities against all relevant Business Process Monitoring (BPM) controls
Oversee compliance with warehousing and distribution governance and assurance (e.g. stock controls IAW eSCM)
Manage and coordinate assurance activities on all Commonwealth owned equipment at the waterfront
Supervise and conduct the on-board audit of ship fitted certified tracked items.
Supervise and conduct audits on Engineering Register data and the collection of associated OQE
Audit ILS data against the Product (ship)
Arrange for the collection of pre-acceptance maintenance triggers and associated OQE
Assist with Technical assessments of alternate items of supply
Assist to identify alternate parts and confirm form-fit-function equivalence.

About Our Team
Naval Construction Branch (NCB) is accountable for the assurance of ship construction, set-to work and transit ofvessels constructed at the Osborne Naval Shipyard and Henderson precinct. We also maintain a smaller presence inPort Macquarie, NSW. NCB is furthering continuous naval shipbuilding and growing sovereign capability by overseeing the construction to ensure quality and standards are met, storing lessons learnt and developing standard shipbuilding procedures for construction.

NCB will oversee the construction of many different Navy vessels including Offshore Patrol Vessels, Hunter Class Frigates, Young Endeavour, Evolved Cape Class and Pacific Patrol Boats. Working at NCB will enable you to be at the grassroots of continuous naval shipbuilding, where you are part of a working shipyard, being able to see and contribute to the vessels delivered and used in service by Navy.

Our Ideal Candidate
The NCB team is looking for logistics professionals who bring a strong sense of ownership, attention to detail, and commitment to continuous improvement. Ideally you will have:
Experience in ERP Inventory Management systems
Completed the Material Logistics Intro and Practitioner courses
Experience with supply chain, and auditing and stocktaking processes
Technical experience with Ships platform systems
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build productive working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
Ability to exercise sound judgement and decision making, with well-developed analytical and problem solving skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong written and verbal communication skills.
