Job Description
Immediate Transportation Co. Ltd is a privately owned freight forwarding and logistics company, founded in 1914 and now marking over 100 years in operation, headquartered in Camberley, Surrey with offices across the UK. They offer air, ocean and road freight, pallet distribution, warehousing, customs brokerage and total logistics solutions, and hold accreditations including FORS Gold Standard, BIFA, IATA, Cyber Essentials and Road Haulage Association membership. Over the decades they've handled some notable projects too - things like Formula One logistics, Airbus UK components, and BAA Heathrow Terminal 5.
Summary
This is a full-time on-site role based at our Liverpool office (St. Nicholas House, Chapel Street, Liverpool, L2 8TX) for an Apprentice Imports Administrator. Alongside your day-to-day role, you will study towards a Level 3 International Freight Forwarder Specialist apprenticeship qualification. You will support the day-to-day administration and coordination of import shipments, ensuring all files, documentation, and system updates are completed accurately and in line with operational requirements. So you'll play a critical part in:
Supporting the management of import files from arrival through to completion
Coordinating shipment movement with carriers, agents, and warehouse operations
Maintaining accurate records across NTS and reporting systems
Supporting financial and operational processes within the imports team
The main duties of this role will include, but not limited to:
Import Operations & File Management
Support the setup and maintenance of import files within NTS
Ensure all documentation is accurately recorded and attached
Maintain accurate records throughout the shipment lifecycle
Support document control processes, including courier logging
Customs & Compliance
Liaise with Destin8 and CNS systems to support port processes
Transport & Shipment Coordination
Assist in identifying transport methods based on shipment requirements
Support coordination of releases to carriers, agents, and warehouses
Assist with delivery planning, warehouse bookings, and pins
Monitor shipment milestones including discharge and delivery timelines
Systems, Reporting & Data Management
Maintain accurate shipment data within NTS
Support generation of daily reports and operational updates
Maintain priority lists and track shipment progress
Support POD processes and update operational reporting Financial Administration
Support the setup and maintenance of account charge pages
Assist with applying tariffs and shipment costings
Support posting of supplier invoices and cost allocations
Operational Support
Provide general administrative support across the imports function
Maintain merchant haulage logs and support rail movements
Assist with operational processes and reporting where required

Please note: This role is an Apprenticeship. Non-UK nationals must provide evidence of having resided in the UK for at least three years and ensure their visa covers the entire duration of the Apprenticeship.
As this is a Level 3 Apprenticeship, candidates aged under 19 are required to have achieved a grade 4 (C) or above in Maths and English. If the successful applicant does not meet these grade requirements, additional training in these subjects will be provided as part of the Apprenticeship.
Pay: £19,000.00 per year
