Job description
Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work setting: Various locations. Tasks: Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements. Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials. Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems. Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware. Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites. Mix, pour and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt. Load, unload and transport construction materials. Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks shoring and barricades. Apprenticeship training: Level one apprenticeship training.
