Company Description
SMR India Pvt Ltd is a textile sourcing, digital printing, and garmenting unit working with leading retailers and exporters in India and internationally to develop prints and garments in the fashion apparel category.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Fashion Designer at SMR India Pvt Ltd located in Noida. The Senior Fashion Designer will be the sole point of contact for sampling for two major retail brands launched by SMR India in the garment division.
He/she will be responsible for
1. Studying and presenting research on market trends in the apparel industry
2. Working closely with the directors to develop samples based on the research presented
3. Overseeing pattern making and sample/proto development to ensure proper fit and quality standards and coordinating with necessary suppliers for sampling
4. Representing SMR India in external meetings including trade fairs and exhibitions
The Senior Fashion Designer will work very closely with the following team members:
1. Head Textile Designer for print development as per the styles and patterns.
2. Production Merchandiser to ensure smooth transition from sampling to production
3. Pattern Master Head Masterji for sample development

Qualifications and Experience:
1. A degree in Fashion Design from a leading institute in India
2. Over 5-6 years of experience working with garment manufacturers/retailers
3. Knowledge of trends in women's westernwear and contemporary Indian wear category
4. Extensive knowledge and experience in working with fabrics - knits and woven both - as well as different embroidery techniques
5. Ability to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment
6. Excellent creativity and design skills
7. Attention to detail and quality
8. Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment
