Job description
Selected Intern's Day-to-day Responsibilities Include
• Design Assistance: Collaborate with the design team to develop innovative apparel designs, from concept sketches to final prototypes. Assist in fabric selection, color coordination, and trend analysis.
• Research and Trend Analysis: Conduct market research to identify current fashion trends, materials, and consumer preferences. Compile mood boards and design inspiration for upcoming collections.
• Technical Support: Assist in creating detailed tech packs, garment specifications, and CAD drawings for production. Work on pattern making, garment fittings, and alterations under the guidance of senior designers.
• Fabric and Material Sourcing: Support the sourcing of fabrics, trims, and other materials. Liaise with suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of materials for sample development.
• Sample Development: Participate in sample creation, fitting sessions, and quality control. Provide feedback and suggest improvements for better fit and finish.
Requirements
• Strong sketching and illustration abilities.
• Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD tools.
• Knowledge of textiles, garment construction, and pattern making.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Creative flair with a keen eye for detail.
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous internship experience in fashion or apparel design is a plus.
