Job Description
This could be a freelance position too.
We are a Tour operator based in Taupo offering a variety of guided activities: kayaking, mountain biking & soon to be Tongariro Alpine Crossing and other walking tours.
We are looking for someone who is:
Passionate about the outdoors and who wants to share their passion with others
And who may which to guide some of the other outdoor activity discipline
Assist us with training & induction of new alpine walking guides & signing of competency levels, etc. If you hold the appropriate outdoor qualifications.
You will need to be and have:
For Summer Alpine Guide:
NZOIA Bush or NZOIA Alpine or equivalent, or good internal competency /experience.
2-Day Outdoor First Aid or equivalent.
For Senior Summer Alpine Guide:
NZOIA Bush 1 or NZOIA Alpine 1 or equivalent.
5-Day PHEC First Aid or equivalent
Have good alpine walking skills and previous experience.
Self-motivated, confident, friendly, and outgoing.
Able to instruct and lead others.
Can organize and work will with within groups of people of all ages, nationalities and sometimes challenging weather conditions.
Be flexible to work on call and weekends.
Full driver’s License preferred.
