CR Lawyers LLP is a well-established full-service law firm with offices located in four Vancouver Island communities in downtown Campbell River, Comox, Courtenay and Ucluelet. Our firm is looking for an Administrative Assistant to join our Comox Valley operations. Training will be provided for this position and no prior legal experience is necessary.

The successful candidate will be an organized, enthusiastic, and hard working, team member who will contribute their skills and expertise and work collaboratively with a team of dedicated and knowledgeable colleagues.

Ideal qualifications:

1-3 years of general office or executive support experience.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook and Word.
Keen attention to detail and appreciation for words. Ability to draft basic correspondence with clarity and tact.
Strong customer service skills and ability to positively interact with lawyers and other professionals, as well as a wide range of clients.
Capacity to learn new systems and software quickly, and a willingness to persevere through ambiguity and uncertainty. Not afraid to seek answers on their own.
Open to training opportunities and developing new skills.
Duties may include but are not limited to:

Open, manage, and close client files, both electronically and in hard copy.
Manage lawyers’ calendars, meeting schedules, and Bring Forward system.
Receive, prepare, and handle large volumes of documents with precision and care.
Manage client accounts in the firm’s billing system. Track time and disbursements, reconcile accounts, and prepare bills. Receive client funds and issue receipts.
Draft basic emails, documents, and correspondence based on written instruction or verbal direction.
Administrative duties that include conducting conflict searches, file organization, answering emails, scheduling appointments, making photocopies, scanning or other duties as assigned.
Organize and maintain document libraries for ease of access.
Assist with day-to-day inquiries and requests.
Back up coverage for Reception.
Training will be provided.
Work Hours Benefits

This is a full time, in-person employment opportunity working Monday – Friday 8:30am-4:30pm with a one-hour unpaid lunch hour, at one of our Comox Valley office locations.
