Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Graduation from high school or equivalent education and four years of progressively responsible relevant work experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: providing administrative/program support to professional staff and management; performing secretarial duties in support of a manager; coordinating communications between the manager, staff and program clientele; supervision of subordinate staff; researching information from internal and external sources; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above
Special Requirements A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required
Travel up to 25% may be required
This position requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment
The hiring agency may require specific skills related testing as part of the interviewing process

Responsibilities
Administrative Assistants perform a broad variety of clerical, secretarial and administrative support duties in an assigned agency, program or other work unit within State government and the Nevada System of Higher Education
This position performs specialized duties in support of Quality Assurance for the ADSD Sierra Regional Center
AA4-QA are responsible to conduct health, safety and welfare assessments of individuals receiving Supported Living Arrangement and Jobs and Day Training services
Travel long distances by state or personal car to conduct quality assurance activities
Must maintain a valid driver's license and be available to work variable schedule including weekends and evenings
Duties include Maintaining databases, spreadsheets and share point
Assignments are broadly stated in terms of objectives to be met, and/or are specialized and require the use of analytical and critical thinking to determine appropriate action and problem resolution
Interpret and explain complex regulations, laws, and program requirements; collaborate with others to take a specific course of action; resolve difficult problems; defend and justify agency actions
Critical assignments are reviewed to ensure conformance to standards of quality and general acceptability
Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, including with individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or developmental disabilities

Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others. The Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) is currently recruiting for a full-time Administrative Assistant 4 in Reno, Nevada. This recruitment may be used to fill current and future vacancies as they occur in the following program: Sierra Regional Center (SRC). This position performs specialized duties in support of Quality Assurance for the ADSD Sierra Regional Center.
