Manage the day to day Administration and Catering / Stores Teams of the AYDC through effective and efficient use of financial, human and physical resources in accordance with relevant legislation and policy to ensure the cost effectiveness and timely provision of services to clients, staff and other stakeholders. Work as part of the AYDC Management Group to achieve AYDC and departmental goals and desired outcomes in accordance with policy, budgetary and human resource priorities and develop procedures and systems to improve operational practices in compliance with legislative and organisational requirements.
This is a Department built entirely for children and young people and their communities. Our ultimate goal is to work together to ensure that every child and young person in Tasmania is known, safe, well and learning.

The child is at the centre of everything we do and the way we do it.

Duties
Manage the day to day Administration and Catering / Stores Teams of the AYDC through effective and efficient use of financial, human and physical resources in accordance with relevant legislation and policy to ensure the cost effectiveness and timely provision of services to clients, staff and other stakeholders. Work as part of the AYDC Management Group to achieve AYDC and departmental goals and desired outcomes in accordance with policy, budgetary and human resource priorities and develop procedures and systems to improve operational practices in compliance with legislative and organisational requirements.

Period of Appointment

Ongoing, start ASAP

Applicants should be aware that for twelve (12) months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill any subsequent full-time or part-time vacancies in accordance with Employment Direction 1.

Hours per fortnight
73.5 hours per fortnight

Essential Requirements

The Registration to Work with Vulnerable People Act 2013 requires persons undertaking work in a regulated activity to be registered. A regulated activity is a child related service or activity defined in the Registration to Work with Vulnerable People Regulations 2014. This registration must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of this may be checked at any time during employment.

Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Registration Status - Employment).
The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

Conviction checks in the following areas:
crimes of violence
sex related offences
serious drug offences
crimes involving dishonesty
serious traffic offences
Identification check
Disciplinary actions in previous employment check.
